Three Women, Missing for Years, Found in Cleveland - Ten years ago on the West Side of Cleveland you couldn’t pass a telephone pole or go through a gas station door without seeing the Missing Person posters of Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus. There were numerous tips and close calls, vigils and false alarms, and yet no one could ever imagine 10 years on, they would be found alive, in the very same lower west side neighborhood where they disappeared. Of course it wouldn’t be Cleveland without that added bit of off kilter craziness from the likes of rescuer Charles Ramsey, to say nothing of the incompetence of the Police Dispatcher. I’m not one to believe in miracles, let’s just say this news event is truly astonishing.

Euclid Avenue, Musical Christmas Tree Decorations Cleveland Ohio, U.S.A. 1966 -“Two 50-foot high musical trees with strings of twinkling lights activated by Christmas carols will dominate downtown Cleveland during the holiday season. Voices of carolers singing on the square will operate the lights on the two musical trees. Base voices will set red lights twinkling; mid-range voices will trigger blue lights and treble voices will make the green lights glow. The twin trees are part of an elaborate Yuletide display being set up by the Greater Cleveland Growth Board. Sixty-two spiral fantasy trees will decorate both sides of Euclid Ave. from the Terminal Tower to E. 18th St.; 14 others will flank E. Ninth St. from St. Clair to Prospect Ave. One of the musical trees will be at the southeast corner of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on the Square; the other will be in the triangle at Playhouse Square. Lights will be turned on, signaling the official start of the Christmas season, at 5 p.m. on November 25. “
